We’re proud to announce the final step of the recycling process!
Drywall Recycling = Gypsum!
Gypsum is 21% calcium and 17% sulfate. It is one of the rare materials that performs in all three categories of soil treatment. It acts as an amendment, a conditioner and a fertilizer. Gypsum is a fast releasing source of sulfur and calcium and when dissolved, it releases an equal proportion of both minerals. In fact, Gypsum is more soluble than lime and increases calcium content without effecting pH.
What will Gypsum do for my soil? Gypsum interacts with water to reduce crusting. It loosens clay and compacted soil which in turn, improves soil structure. And, it's great for no-till! With the improved soil aggregation and permeability that gypsum offers, surface applied fertilizers will penetrate with greater ease. As many farmers know, gypsum provides a low cost remedy for acid, sodic and erosion prone soils.
What will Gypsum do for my crops, lawn or garden? Plants need calcium to produce early root growth. Gypsum's high calcium content encourages plant growth and increases the overall calcium content of the crop. It also helps prevent some produce diseases such as scab and bitter pit.
What is a typical application? 1 to 2 tons per acre
